[Newsletter] BGA AGM tonight

(This is a repeat of my message of a week ago, with changes shown in red).

The BGA AGM takes tonight at 20:00, on Zoom.

The Zoom details that you will need to join the meeting are at the 
bottom of this email.

The AGM will be preceded by a short Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) 
to consider proposals to make a couple of minor amendments to the 
Company's Articles. This is being done as a separate meeting to ensure 
that the changes (if approved) will apply to the AGM itself.

The Agenda, Annual Report and 2023 Accounts can be found at 
https://www.britgo.org/history/accounts (this is inside the Members' 
Area so you will need to logon).

The major item at this year's AGM will be the election of a new 
President. I am standing down after 6 years in the post, and we have two 
candidates: Colin Williams and Gerry Gavigan. Each candidate has 
produced a "manifesto", which are attached to this email.

There will be some minor changes ot the order of items at the AGM. Item 
5 will be considered before item 4, and item 11 after item 5. This means 
that the order will be:

Annual Report (includes Officers reports) (old item 5)
Approval of 2023 Accounts (old item 4)
Dispensation with audit and appointment of Examiner (old item 11)
Election of Officers.

The reason for this is that it is logical to consider the Annual Report 
before the Accounts, and the Dispensation with audit is also associated 
with our finances and it makes sense to consider all the financial 
issues at the same time.

*Proxies*

It is now too late to appoint a proxy. If you have appointed a proxy you 
may still revoke that appointment (and if you turn up at the meeting 
this will be an automatic revocation) and you may still alter your 
instructions to your proxy.
