[Newsletter] BGA AGM

The BGA AGM takes place next week, on 23 May at 20:00, on Zoom.

The Zoom details that you will need to join the meeting are at the 
bottom of this email. They will be sent out again a few hours before the 
start of the meeting.

The AGM will be preceded by a short Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) 
to consider proposals to make a couple of minor amendments to the 
Company's Articles. This is being done as a separate meeting to ensure 
that the changes (if approved) will apply to the AGM itself.

The Agenda, Annual Report and 2023 Accounts can be found at 
https://www.britgo.org/history/accounts (this is inside the Members' 
Area so you will need to logon).

The major item at this year's AGM will be the election of a new 
President. I am standing down after 6 years in the post, and we have two 
candidates: Colin Williams and Gerry Gavigan. Each candidate has 
produced a "manifesto", which are attached to this email.

*Proxies*

If you are not able to attend the AGM you may appoint a proxy to vote on 
your behalf. You should inform your proxy as to how they should cast 
their vote (or you can leave it to their discretion). If you appoint a 
proxy please make sure you are appointing them for the EGM as well as 
the AGM. If you wish you may appoint me as your proxy. You must inform 
the BGA Secretary of this appointment at least 24 hours before the start 
of the meeting.

Please ensure that both you and your proxy are members of the BGA CLG.
