Tourman is a collection of web applications providing support for
managing tournaments. It provides:

o A customisable entry form
o A sortable list of entries
o Automatic email responses to player and TD
o Register for GoDraw

I have been asked how to set up the entry form. The procedure is as follows:

1. Download a Specification Template.
Go to www.britgo.org/tourmansys/tourman/entryform-specification
This is a simple text file and contains instructions on what is needed.
I observe that this does not render well in the browser, but is fine in
a text editor.

2. Email the spec to me.
I recommend downloading the spec, editing a copy of it and then email
your edited spec to me as attachment. I will then create a test version
of the form for you to try. This will not send any emails, but writes
to a file on brigo.org and I can give you a link to see those.

3. The result
If your tournament is named 'galactica' the outcome is an html form with
name galactica-form.html residing in a folder 'galactica' on britgo.org.
The list of entries is 'galactica/tour-entries.html'

4. Testing
The form is initially released in 'test' mode to iron out any errors.
When satisfied, I then change it to 'live' mode and then we test that
everybody receives the expected emails. Once all is well I then delete
all the current entries and 'galactica' is ready for the first entrant!

A common way of accessing the form is via the Calendar and you can see a
live form for the Nothern. You can also simple link to the form in your
own web page. You can also embed a form into your web page as an html
<object>.

I have tried to keep the maintenance of the system to a minimum. Once a
form is set up I envisage that the same form will be used for many
years. So it is advisable to limit the use of dates and actual prices.

If there is anything unclear about the Specification Template, please
let me know, as I would like it to be self sufficient.
