Contributions are always welcome, both from our members and others. We ask that they be Go-related and "newsy". The place for debate and general discussion is the BGA open mailing list Gotalk. However, an introduction to a new topic is fine in the Newsletter. A brief introduction to Gotalk, with a link for joining, is on the BGA page Go on the Internet . Instructions for Contributors: Please use plain text not file-attachments. Keep it fairly brief, and give web-links and contact details. It's good to include pictures. NEWS BGA Online League The next round of the BGA Online Leagues will be starting soon. This is an EGD class D rated tournament which will require you to play an average of a game once every two weeks, scheduled whenever is convenient for you (please be aware that your email address will be shared with other participants to allow for organisation). The games will be played on OGS with time settings of 30mins+10s/move and handicap. If you would like to enter please email leagues at britgo.org by Friday 11th September with your OGS username and the rank you would like to enter at. European Women's Go Championship ? A reminder that this prestigious event is being held this year at the London Go Centre on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October. It is open to any female player of European nationality of any level. The main tournament was won by Ahn Yongho (7D, Korea), with Li Yuanzhen (7D, UCL) coming 2nd, Bao Yifan (7D, Warwick Uni) in 5th place and Jason Qian (5D, UCL) in 9th place. The weekend yournament was won by Li Yuanzhen, with Bao Yifan coming 4th. Full results and standings can be found here . US Go Congress 2026 ? Jake Game 5D (Swindon) won the Dan Lightning Championship, beating Kevin Jin (4D). Damen Woo 7D (Nottingham) was one of four to represent Europe in the World Division. It was won by Xu Xiaofan (Singapore) who will advance to the main tournament.
