[Newsletter] Board feedback to members on BGA Finances

In past AGMs it has been clear that there is a desire for more feedback to
members on our financial status. We are now in a position to share two
papers with members:

   - A draft profit and loss projection for 2025
   - A summary of the results of the recent consultation on what to do with
   our financial reserves

Both these can be found as links on the BGA website, at the top of this
page https://www.britgo.org/history/accounts. For obvious reasons they have
been put in the members-only section, so you will need to be logged in to
access them.

Both papers also contain commentary on actions the Board is taking as a
result of these analyses.

To be clear, we are publishing these as an information sharing initiative,
and whilst constructive feedback is always welcomed we are not at this time
seeking an in-depth debate with members on our finances. They do however
detail a number of areas where the Board is carrying out further actions,
and it is likely that specific feedback from key individuals will be sought
on those topics (for example from Tournament Directors on any proposals to
change the levy system). It is also likely that proposals will be brought
to next year’s AGM to cover any major changes we may wish to make.

I hope you will find these informative, and wish you all the best over the
holiday season.

Colin Williams

BGA President
