FROM THE EDITOR
Contributions are always welcome, both from our members and others. We ask
that they be Go-related and "newsy". The place for debate and general
discussion is the BGA open mailing list Gotalk. However, an introduction to
a new topic is fine in the Newsletter. A brief introduction to Gotalk, with
a link for joining, is on the BGA page Go on the Internet
<https://www.britgo.org/gopcres/info#mail>.
*Instructions for Contributors:* Please use plain text not
file-attachments. Keep it fairly brief, and give web-links and contact
details. It's good to include pictures. If they are on the internet, send
me the URL, otherwise attach the picture files to your email. Send your
contribution to newsletter at britgo.org to arrive by the first day of the
month.

Pandanet Go European Team Championship
The UK team beat Norway 3-1 in the third match of the C League season.
Unfortunately for Ireland their top board didn’t show up and, despite wins
for Gavin Rooney and Philippe Renault, they could only draw, with penalty
points for the missing game. However this meant that the UK team moved up
from second to top place.
Council/Board News
We have had a delay in conversion due to problems in establishing a new
Bank Account, but this has now been successfully completed and the formal
conversion to a Company Limited by Guarantee will take place on 15
February. On that date the majority of the "old" BGA's assets will be
transferred to the new company (it is possible that some of the BGA's
assets, held in interest-bearing accounts, cannot be transferred until the
account matures). Those paying via PayPal or Direct Debit do not need to do
anything; however, anyone who has, in the past, transferred money direct to
the BGA via Bank Transfer will need to amend their instructions: please
contact Phil Beck treasurer AT britgo DOT org for details.
ADMINBritish Go Journal
