It's more about joined up thinking and letting the various technologies be responsible for passing information from A-B not pushing that burden onto TDs. The levy and tracking associated with it is just one more little bit of grit in the process of running a tournament - not a major pain but as you know all the little annoyances slowly add up,

Would be a lot more straightforward if we could (a) get a registration system that tracks membership AND (b) is tied into godraw so that that status is passed through. If that was simply a field on the EGD and the EGD PIN was the thing passed through that'd be great for 95% of entries. The remaining 5% will always cause more trouble than the other 95% put together - that's just life,

I understand your point but suggest that your proposal could become a leviathan. On the odd occasion when you are not running the draw at LGC I use openGotha (but might take a look at MacMahon) because

Feeding from Jenny's well made point about not stressing out TDs, compelling this or that draw programme should be a no-no (and of course openGotha pulls down the EGD automatically which brings other benefits).
