[tournament-org] Things a Tournament Director hates

Hi,

Mainly agreeing with things that other people have mentioned:
- Make sure you keep the TD updated with your plans (playing or not playing
in a round) in plenty of time
- Read the information you've been given before asking questions
- Double check the game details before you start playing (including who's
playing which colour, if there are any handicaps, etc)
- Offer to ghost, if you don't mind missing a round (most tournaments only
need a maximum of 3 ghosts per day, so even if everyone offered to ghost
most people wouldn't need to)
- Record your game as soon as possible
- Try to start your game on time, and (while obviously it's OK to use the
time limit and overtime) try to make sure it doesn't get too delayed, for
example with discussions before counting up
- Try to be ready in the tournament room in advance of the draw for rounds
you're playing in, so the TD can check who's actually present
- If you need to tell the TD something, try to make sure the TD hears it
directly - try to avoid asking someone to pass the message on
- If you're able to wait at the end of the tournament to help tidy the room
up, it can be very helpful
- Sign up for tournaments as far in advance as possible, as soon as you
know you're planning to attend (talking of which, Durham is coming up in a
couple of months...)

Go players are, on the whole, very helpful and considerate people -
thankfully problems don't happen often!

Cheers,

Andrew
