Send your contribution to <a href="mailto:newsletter-editor@britgo.org?subject=Item%20for%20newsletter">newsletter-editor@britgo.org</a> to arrive by the first day of the month.</p><h4>NEWS</h4><h4>2026 BGA British Championship</h4><p>The 2026 BGA British Champion was decided by games on 11th and 18th July. Zeyu Qiu 6D (LGC) beat Becky Li 3D (UCL) 2-0 at the London Go Centre with the games starting at 11:00.</p><p>The games were streamed to "LGC Account" on OGS and a commentary was also provided by Damen Woo 7D (Nottingham) on BGA's YouTube channel. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6VnGtqHFGI">Game 1</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4nuLrR9AAM">Game 2</a></p><h4>European Women's Go Championship</h4><p><img src="https://britgo.org/files/2026/ewgc26.jpg" title="EWGC Trophies" width="500"><br>This prestigious event is being held this year at the London Go Centre on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October. It is open to any female player of European nationality of any level. <a href="https://gocentre.londongo.club/ewgc">More Info/Enter</a></p><h4>Global News</h4><h4>European Go Congress</h4><p>The 2026 European Go Congress is currently taking place in Turkey. After 5 rounds, 2 UK players are in the top 5: Li Yuanzhen 7D (UCL) and Bao Yifan 7D (Warwick University). Also, Yuanzhen Li won the weekend tournament with Yifan Bao coming fourth. More info <a href="https://www.egc2027.nl/">here</a>.</p><h4>US Go Congress 2026</h4><p>This was held in Boston, MA from the 25th July to the 1st August 2026. Jake Game 5D (Swindon) was among those taking part. Results can be found <a href="https://leago.gg/event/usgocongress-2026/standings/t/grmmvcqkts/r/6">here</a>.</p><h4>2026 World Collegiate Weiqi Championship</h4><p>The 10th Annual World Collegiate Weiqi Championship took place from the 7th to 13th July at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. Edmund Smith 1D (Warwick University) represented the UK and was one of 14 European students in attendance.</p><h4>Samsung Cup 2026 Preliminary</h4><p>This will take place in Incheon, South Korea from the 26th to 30th August 2026.
